The Phoenix rises from the ashes

After 6 months of Garden leave (which is an overrated benefit) I’m now only one week away from the end of my 17 years with Davis Langdon and the start of our new business – atorus.

With 5 of the last 6 months spent in Abu Dhabi, for what has been the closest that I have come to house arrest, all sense of connection to the business known as Davis Langdon and the office that I established and built in Abu Dhabi is long gone – AECOM put paid to that. With a strong sense of excitement and renewed ambition for the future, any anxiety has evaporated with the market appetite and enthusiasm for the new offer that atorus is going to deliver into the market.

Having returned to the UK (and my family) on the 6th April, the readjustment to England, weather and family life has been a joy. This has only reinforced the “why?” of setting up a new business and will provide a daily reminder of the reasons for realigning my career path.

I am now committed to maintaining a weekly diary of the story as it unfolds and will be pleased to share this with you, including every peak and trough. We’re strapped in and ready to set the roller coaster away. It’s going to be a thrilling and rewarding ride!
